How to "restore" Windows Update?

Hello, i did a fresh install and set up everything, all's fine.. But not W.Update : i noticed it endlessly search. Sometimes i get the pop up "updates are avalaible" but it's still show search bar in its window.. Also i'm not able to install some WU fixes manually, probably due to that. How can i "restore" it?

Hi,
When manually installing updates you need to switch your update settings to Never check for updates and restart the machine first.

After restart verify that the windows update service is not running if it is Stop and switch to Manual apply and okay.

After switch your windows update and service settings back to what you had prior and manually check for updates and the rest should show up shortly.

TrashZone, thank you, it worked!! Going to install the updates now Just weird to have "Windows 7 SP1" here since i'm using SP1 already.. Weight 9MB.. ID KB976932. A bit off topic but i have the issue of svchost.exe using lot of CPU constantly, this on ALL my 7 units. I found a fix, which is KB2889748; says the issues comes from net.framework. Think that's it indeed?

Hi no problem
Probably the same issue which the same updates installed should get them all back to normal after trusted installer finishes up installing all of them.

Prior updates clients caused the issue probably not net framework but I was on net 4.5.2 for a very long time because it was more reliable early on

Net 4.6.1 has been out for a while so I did finally reinstall it a few days ago and everything seems okay.

Yea I had to install a temperature monitoring software to get a heads up if something like svchost was acting up
I got this one it's good but only for Intel
