Hello,

I recently started working with Windows 7 and I haven´t figured out yet how to set a folder to select files to download.

When I go to a web form and I want to upload files from my hard drive, in all previous versions of Windows that I worked with, I used to select once the desired folder, pick a file to upload and for all subsequent file uploads, pressing the "Examin" or "Select file" button would take me to the same folder, saving me a lot of mouse clicks if I manually need to upload several files.

Since I switched to Windows 7 everytime I want to upload a file, it takes me to the Documents Library and I need to navigate to the desired folder again.

I have used Shortcuts to eliminate some clicks, but I prefer Windows to always go to the folder I used the last time I needed to select a file.

I have not found an applicable setting in the File and Folder options menu.

Any help is appreciated!

Its an application setting, if the application wants to remember the last used directory then it is up to the developer of the application to make use of that. If it doesn't...well SOL.

Thanks logicearth,

However, using the same upload form in Windows XP, the application does remember the last used directory.
I´ll try to get the web service to add that feature to their application for clients using Windows 7.

Oh well, in IE 8 it worked fine, so the fact that I now use IE 9 might cause the discomfort. I wil try another browser!

Thanks!

When you download anything you should see a Windows Downloader dialog box at the bottom of your screen.

Rather than using the Download option, choose Save As and navigate to whichever folder you are using to save your downloads. Subsequent downloads should then default to that location every time you choose Save As.

Yes, but my problem is with uploading files from my hard drive to the net via a web form.
