how to set Word 07 to open draft view by default

When I open a new document it only takes up a small portion of the screen. When I click the draft view icon the page fills the whole screen. I would like the document to occupy the whole screen by default.

Note also that documents, even if saved in Draft view, will not open in
Draft view unless you have explicitly selected that option in Office Button
| Word Options | Advanced: General: "Allow opening a document in Draft
view."

I discovered that some features of Word 07 don't work in draft view (Live preview eg).The e-How article is a help with the problem I was having.
