Main PC:
Windows 7 Pro
SMC Barricade N router

Backup box:
Linux
NetGear N150 WiFi dongle
Shared hard drive

I just plugged in the router. In Network and Sharing Center I clicked on Local Area connection next to Home Network and then Details.
IP: 198.168.2.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 198.168.2.1

In the Linux box I used the Connect wizard to set up the wirelss LAN. Automatically gave
IP: 198.168.2.101
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 198.168.2.1

The blue LED on the WiFi dongle is on and the tray icon shows connected. So I assume everything there is ok. (My knowledge of Linux is VERY limited.)

In Windows Explorer I do not see the Linux shared drive anywhere.

What else do I need to do?

Back from holiday. Unfortunately, I don't want to share an HDD between Windows and Linux. I have two separate PCs and want them to talk to each other.

I have got to the point where the Linux box and the Windows box can ping each other. The Linux box is running Samba, so it is acting as a file-server.

Is there anything I can do in Windows to help it "see" the Linux box in what used to be called Network Neghbourhood but is now just Network?
