Solved How to transfer many bookmarks at once from Win 10 to Win 7 ?

I'm starting to use my Win 7 as a backup to a lot of my Win 10 stuff, including many Firefox bookmarks just in case of any problems. However because there's a considerable number of them which are now saved in document text form in Win 7, I have to keep laboriously clicking on them over and over again to open the required website in Win 7.

Is there a way to transfer all of them at once into Win 7's existing webpage bookmark's folder which are mostly now out of date to avoid all this ?

Hi Arcadian,

COULD BE WRONG, but

If you reset FF, a folder appears on your desktop Firefox.old.
You could copy and tranfer that from W10.

Not done this before, how do you reset FF presumably they're both the same on Win 7 and 10 ?

provided BOTH firefox's are the same version, doesnt matter about OS.

Hi,
I've never used it but firefox have you tried sync in tools/ options
Sign into firefox from both machines and it should work ?
Otherwise export to an html file and import that file in the other os I do that way and works.

Gaps in my knowledge ! Never exported anything as far as I know into html, what do you do ?

Hi,
Pretty easy just open firefox
Press the Alt key on your keyboard that will make the menu bar appear on the top left of the firefox window
Go to the Bookmarks listing and Organize bookmarks listing
On the top you'll see Import/ export
Save the file to your desktop and email it to yourself or move it to a flash drive....

Then just import that html file in the other os's browser.

Thanks, in fact I'd already loaded all of the bookmarks from Win 10 into Win 7 but they're still in the Word type text.

Is there a way to transfer all of them at once into Win 7's existing dropdown bookmark's folder on the top bar, to avoid having to click on each one and then bookmarking it as there about 300/400 or so?

If you want just o save the bookmarks, Firefox has a tool for it.
On Bookmarks tab open Show All bookmarks or press Ctrl+Shift+B
Library will open on a new Window. Select Import and Backup - Backup
On the target computer Select Import and Backup - Restore.
If you want to make a backup of all Firefox settings copy the profile folder and paste on the target computer.

Hi,
Ordinarily I have a bookmarks folder with numerous folders inside
I would just drag and drop the folder to the bookmarks toolbar and be done
Just go to View on the top left and check the box for it
