how to turn off specific updates

Hi there. With XP, I could tell the system not to remind me again of certain updates to my system that I didn't want. I haven't found a way to do that in Windows 7. It keeps bringing up a certain set of updates (related to Windows Live). So I skip out of it. How can I tell it not to bring them up again? Thanks for your help.

Go to All Programs, Windows update, Change settings. There you can change the drop down to check for updates but let me choose........... that should do it !

If you right click on a specific update there should be an option to hide it. once you do that it will stop showing up/nagging you to install it. to get it back you just click the "Restore hidden updates" option.

Glad to help. That can be annoying, be reminded you haven't installed, something you don't want.
