With 32bit Vista Ultimate, the HP Color Laserjet 3500 printer worked fine. I just upgraded to Windows 7 and when I plugged the printer cable into the computer it started to download drivers, etc... After it was all set, I went to print. It goes into the print Que and just sits...almost like it is not being pushed to the printer. I uninstalled & reinstalled...also tried to run compatibility mode but to no avail.

Is this model not compatible with 7?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Garret
:D

Suggest you download "DriverMax" and let it find the driver for you. That is a really awesome program if you want to keep your drivers up to date without a lot of fuss.

Good luck

Problem Fixed with Recent Windows 7 Update

Thank you all for your reply.

I was not able to fix the problem until an update, from Windows 7, downloaded & installed on my computer - titled something along the line of, "Windows Compatibility Update". It resolved the problem immediately...all I had to do at that point was delete the older HP 3500 drivers that had already been downloaded which were not working (or just tell the computer to use "HP 3500 (3)" instead of the first or (2) driver that remained...good timing I guess!

What upgrade did solve your problem? Is there any package no. or something else that tell you what package that solved it?

I'm suffering from the similar problem as we have Laserjet 3500 installed at my business network at my job. I installed Vistas drivers and I could print but not change any settings through network...and as you all figures - that sucks! :)

So - any more specific info about that upgrade?

Thx!

Works through server

I have a PC conected to my network, running XP Pro.

Sharing the printer on that server, and like magic I was able to print to my otherwise super HP 3500 through the network.

W7 used HP's UNIDRV.DLL ; HPC3500h.GPD - obtained from teh server.
