hp laserjet 1010

when trying to install hp laserjet 1010 it gives me an error .... i've attached a pic with the thread .... i have win 7 ..... i don't know what the problem really is because i have installed it on another win 7 laptop before

Hi kid2010, Very sorry for the late response to your query, try the vista driver HP LaserJet 1010 Printer series -  Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center install it in compatibility mode ,Check to see if the printer needs to be online or offline during installation ,Browsing HPs' website it is hard to conclude wether this particular printer supports Win 7 or not , this is the only options I can give you I'm afraid

If Pebbly's good advice doesn't correct your problem I would suggest that you contact HP directly by toll free number or email.
I too have a HP Laser Jet printer [in the same series as yours] & have found HP's support in this area is quite good.

i downloaded the driver but this is not an exe file or something ... its just a rar and when i unzip it it gives a lot of other rars ..... wheres the driver???
also i told you that i installed the xp driver on another win 7 computer and it works like a charm
i don't know what's the problem with this one

i found out how to do it
as the member java jack said in another post :

Download HP drivers from here:
HP LaserJet 1010 Printer series*-* HP LaserJet 1010/1012/1015 Host Based Driver - HP Business Support Center

Unzip into a folder/destination of your choice (remember where you put it)

Go to Devices and Printers window (from win 7 start button)

Click Add Printer

Tell it Dot 4 printer as the Port type

Click Have Disk

When it can't find the driver on A drive, click Browse

Point it back to the Unzipped file location you saved earlier

It should find the .inf file at this point.

Follow the remaining steps.
