Windows 7, Build 7000, installed without a hitch, and detected all necessary drivers, including for my HP 5610 Officejet. I can print from it, and I can scan from it using Windows Fax and Scan--thus the drivers are obviously working OK.
When I try to install the Vista software from HP's disc, it fails after a couple of minutes (and after plugging in the USB cable, which it recognizes). This means I don't have the HP scanning software installed. Given Windows Fax and Scan, that wouldn't be a big deal, except HP's scanning software, unlike Windows Fax and Scan, allows you to save scans in .pdf format, which is really, really, useful (at least for me).
Anyone else with this problem--or, better yet, with a suggested fix!
