HTML files suddenly opening slowly

I have a website and suddenly when updating it my previews (html files) take forever to open. Not when I upload them...only when I am editing them. I use Windows 7, IE10 and my editor is Scite. I believe my problems lie with IE10. They started when I uninstalled IE11 and went back to 10.

Any ideas?

Upgrade to IE11, there seems to be more support for HTML5.
why did you downgrade?

Because I wasn't have the problem with IE10. I found the problem though...I had an animated gif that was the problem. I changed it to a link and all is fine. Thanks for your help...and yes I will go ahead an download IE11, again.
