I am having random screen flashes and then blue screen

I have a Gateway MD2614U laptop OS Win7 Home 32bit. Now my 15" flat screen tv can also serve as a computer monitor. When I am doing ham radio digital transmissions I have 2 primary prog's open and running at the same time. I setup in Win7 for the flat screen tv to be an extended monitor so one prog is on the flat screen tv and the other is on the laptop screen.
Everything was fine. Then everything went hay wire. At random times prog's started changing colors, blinking on and off on both screens, then the hole desktop started in doing it on both screens. Then everything goes black and a blue box pops up saying "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage" There is a lot more writing on the blue screen. That's just the 1st top line. Then the laptop shuts down and reboots. This has happened many times since I plugged in the tv as a 2nd monitor. With the monitor cable to the tv unplugged from the laptop there hasn't been anymore of that random stuff. And there wasn't anything like this before I plugged in the tv as a monitor. What gives here?

So, for those 2 please update your Conexant driver which should be found on the Gateway site for your particular model. Also I suggest removing ZoneAlarm using the Zone Alarm Forums which can be found at https://www.zonealarm.com/forums/sh...-download-zonealarm-com-bin-fr-load-clean-exe and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows) At least until we get you stable.

The only drivers that I can find at GateWay Drivers & Downloads is for 1st gen Vista. Windows 7 32bit is not supported according to Gateway for the MD26 model.

Essenbe I just copied the info from http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/98073-drivers-install-vista-drivers-windows-7-a.html to a txt file on my hard drive tonight. After I get done testifying in divorce court today on behalf of my room mate/best buddy. I will (tue evening) get on it and test installing the video drivers that way and see if that cures the blue screen crash when Win7 is setup to do the extended desktop via a 2nd monitor.

With the Gateway operating on just it's own built in screen. The laptop works just fine. By the way. I have no idea if it is related. 1st off I think I said that my flat screen tv is also the external monitor. Anyways I have the laptop sound, tv sound and the hf radio sound running through a switch box to 1 set of headphones. I had to put a ground loop isolator on the audio out from the tv to the switch box. The tv and the laptop were interacting.

Ok, and you may like to try just 1 monitor.

Perhaps you should run it with just the laptop screen. When you run multiple monitors it can cause problems, and with just 256MB of Vram just probably is not enough. There is also the possibility that what you did to the TV sound is causing some type of problems.

Do you know what a ground loop isolator is? A ground loop isolator is a fix for a problem. Not causing a problem. When the grounds of 2 pieces of equipment aren't at the same ground potential then when these two pieces of equipment are interconnected, if the ground wire between them does not have low enough resistance to fully equalize their potentials, there will be an audible hum created at the AC mains base frequency (50 or 60 Hzhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hertz) and the harmonics thereof (120 Hz, 240 Hz, and so on), called mains hum. I am thinking that putting on the monitor cable is bypassing the ground loop isolator.
