I cannot activate the product key for a Windows 7 installation

Hi, before I signed up I scouted this site and others for answers as this is a question which has came up often, I've gone through the steps to the same position.

I bought a Windows 7 ISO/Product Key from this site https://softwaregeeks.co.uk. They have good ratings so I thought "This isn't some rip off like the last Windows I got from Ebay". I did the installation with their ISO Windows 7 Professional OEM. They sent me a code which doesn't work, I've tried emailing them to no avail.

I know that the letter N doesn't work when typing an activation code yet I got one in my key they sent. The 2nd line of the key is NB8H3 the rest do work.

It's so exasperating after the counterfeit ebay Windows 7 I got the last time.

Unfortunately, I don't see a good outcome, you should report that company to Microsoft,

Right on the front page they are showing discs with a Dell logo, they can't sell those.

The price should have been the first thing to tip you off but I understand trying to find a deal, it wasn't worth it this time.

Lookin at that report you have an OEM install on a retail board

You can have an OEM install on a retail board and be legal by the way. I have an OEM version of Windows 7 I bought on NewEgg. It shows up with a product ID of XXXXX-OEM-XXXXXXX-XXXX. That motherboard doesn't have any SLIC table. It's activated with the key on the COA sticker that came with it. Googling the Product ID will just get similar ID's not tied to any particular OEM. Anybody that bought a system builders OEM copy will get the same result. It's OEM but activates online. I'm not saying the OP's install is legal, just that it being an OEM install doesn't necessarily mean it isn't legal.

Does your DVD have an $OEM$ folder in the Sources folder? It shouldn't have one unless its custom OEM install media. Where you prompted to enter a key when you did the install? You should have been, if you weren't that's another indication its custom OEM install media, or its been modified tampered with. Are you noticing any branding on say the system page? OEM LOGO's for say Dell?
