I need help to access Administrator rights!

Here's my situation. I have two account in which which one is named Admin and the other is named Danny. One account was an administrator user, and the other, a standard user. Recently, I accidentally changed the administrator user to a standard user and now I am stuck with two standard users. I cannot access some files, change settings on my computer, download things, remove programs, etc. Help!

I've done some research beforehand and people say to try and access the true administrator by typing "net user administrator /active:yes" into the command prompt after you run it as an administrator, but all it gives me is "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied."

At the bottom, click on To access the System Recovery Options menu

Once there, use System Restore to go back to before you changed the Administrator account.

boot into safe mode. click start > run. type Control userpasswords2 in the run box and see if you can switch a user to admin from there

it may be Control useraccounts2, if that dont work, try to type them in non plural, I would check, but i havn't used windows in awhile

It's Control userpasswords2 and it won't work. You need to be an Admin to make that change, Catch 22.

i dunno, last time i tried it i think all went well...

Anyways, i dunno if the free version'll do it, but Active@ Password changer is pretty nice, with it you can open up the built in Administrator account
