I need help with administrator password

I am trying to uninstall some unwanted programs from my parent's laptop but the computer will not allow me to do so without the administrator password. The thing is when they purchased the laptop they did not set up an administrator password so I am being asked for a non-existent password. Is there any way I can remove the administrator password or reset it to something I do know? Thanks

Hi LogieBear, welcome to the Seven forums.

When Windows is set up, the first user account is always an administrative account. If no password is set and later when using a local account the UAC (User Account Control) asks for administrative credentials, simply select the admin account, leave the password field empty and click OK.

Short: if no password is set, then leave password field empty.

Do you have full admin privileges ?

Are you a member of the Administrators group ?
