I need tweeking prevention help

ok. SO im a big windows 7 tweaker. but i gotta stop. iv already bought a new laptop. uninstalled OS systems and Re-installed OS systems downloaded a OS system illeagally once a year ago because i broke it. so is there anything i can do to just stop!

Seriously, this is not a cure, but at least it makes tweaking a bit harder: use a standard user account. It does not prevent you tweaking but every time you modify something, you have to give admin credentials and that reminds you about the reason you are using a standard account.

I'm using this method. It gives me an extra step to think if what I'm doing is really necessary, an additional 'Are you sure?' question.

What largely broke me of it was being a Win7 beta tester for over a year.

I watched them iron out all of the bugs to a perfectly balanced OS which doesn't need any tweaking. In fact, tweaking has become synonymous in my mind with corrupting a nearly perfect OS.

OK, I still get my tweak off by disabling Offline Files whenever installing Ultimate, or running the batch file to turn off WMP Sharing service on other installs - the only thing that will keep it turned off - or editing video effects on low resource machines.

But it's such small potatoes that the only way to replace the addiction is to do about a dozen clean installs a week, help fix another dozen or so online, spend more time surfing and at the gym.

Oh, and don't try to confront a tweaker because they can be vicious as a jonesing addict, which most are

MSDN: Microsoft Development, MSDN Subscriptions, Resources, and More . . . I was also being a tweaker but decided thats its a waste of time and I should start learning something . . .
