I need urgent help with Win 7 (and maybe Win 8)

I have been having major issues with Windows 7 (and I just found out that Win 8 Pro Upgrade is being offered till Jan31 for S39.99)

I am happy with Win 7 features, BUT I do not seem to fix my issues.

Win 7 is not booting. I do have:
A. repair disk;
B. a System Recovery disk;.
C. the Dell.Re-installation OEM disk from Dell (of what they say is already installed in my Dell Desktop PC

Additionally I have
D. an ISO Image from Dell Community Win 7 Image X17-58997.iso..img for my original Win 7 Home 64bit OS

And. one HDD does boot (out of 7 disks I own)...although after bypassing error "0xc0000024"..after that error message.I hit Enter ... and Windows 7 boots.

With all the tools listed above I CANNOT install Windows 7 in a SSD as my boot disk, so i can delete the OS from the Mechanical HDDs that now boots with that error. All other HDDs cannot be read by the OS. That is why i want a clean re-install.

QUESTION :Could anyone offer me some detailed assitance to solve my problem.

ADDITIONALLY:
I have an unopened Windows 7 disk that reads: Windows 7 Home Premium that comes with both 32 and 64 bit Disks (My original system is 64-bit) (*)
Now this piece of software reads that is ÙPGRADE designed for Windows Vista I never owned Vista i bought it with Win 7 64 bit pre-installed by Dell.

QUESTION: Would this spare Upgrade be good to use to re-install my original Win 7 64bit and also using my original Key Code. OR... it wont work cause it needs the old VISTA OS on the computer

And my last option now....(back to first paragraph above) Microsoft is offering for a few more days until January 31 a $39.99 version referred to as The Price of Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Goes From $40 to $200 on February. `This license requires that you already have a copy of Windows installed, anything from Windows XP through Windows 8.(this would be my last resort if none of the other tools work for me)

I have tried to use every tool mentioned above (A,B,C and D) without any success.

I have not tried the unopened software cause I am unsure if it would work for my purposes.

I would appreciate if someone could help me solve my situation..

Thank you kindly

What`s the problem, just use the Dell oem disc to reinstall windows.

the PC did not come with a physical copy of the OEM OS. Just one that reads
QUOTE

The software is already installed on your computer. Use this DVD only to reinstall the operating system on a Dell PC. This DVD is not for reinstallation of programs or drivers. For Distribution only with a new Dell PC.

It does not allow me to access it. AND there are no Hardware issues inckuding the Hard Disk Drives. I checked all HDDs (7) or the one SSD drive.with Western Digital Acronis as well as the rest of the PC hardware with Dell Diagnostics both local and online at their site. all tests passed without issues.

This is a Softare issue related to the Windows 7 Home 64-bit

Thank you for your interest in helping out.

Sorry, but your replies don't make much sense to me.....

Are you saying you have 7 x HDD, all of which have Windows 7 installed to them? Or is the Windows 7 installation spanned across all the disks? You do not require a reinstallation DVD in order for an HDD to boot.

Please start with the basic problem you are having - its very difficult to work out what your problems are at the moment.

Please start with the basic problem you are having - its very difficult to work out what your problems are at the moment.

The basic problem is:
I have no HDD where the OS is working without errors

The one thing id like to do now is to Install Win 7 on my only SDD.

In the past yes i had installed the OS on the SSD...
and on another 2 HHDs (aside from the one that came with the PC). The reason i did that was to have a backup in case the OS had trouble in the original HDD

If i get to install a clean and fresh OS in the SSD. Then i would wipe out all the HDDs clean and start over using them in a 4 tray external enclosure and one internal tray.

None of my repair, restore, re install tools are allowing me to make a fresh clean install of the OS

I know i have a few other issues -which are all OS related- and i also think i explained them very clearly too. I only need simple 1...2 3 steps to proceed and maybe succeeed after so many unsuccessful tries

Thank you

Note 1: out of the 7 HDD and 1 SSD i had the OS on 4 HDDs and the 1 SSD
Note 2: "Or is the Windows 7 installation spanned across all the disks?" << I have no idea what is spanned in that sentence

As already mentioned, you can use the Dell Re-installation DVD to reinstall Windows - if it doesn't work, specify exactly what errors you are getting.

When asking the PC to boot from the CD/DVD ROM drive -containing the Dell Re-installation DVD disk- i get a black screen with a flicking white cursor that goes nowhere

OK. Do this:

1. Disconnect ALL other disks except for the SSD you want to install to.
2. Follow the exact steps in this guide (download a new Windows 7 ISO from the link in the guide):

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html

3. Once installed and rebooted, shut down the PC and then connect the other disks.
4. Complete all the Windows updates
5. Post a new disk management screen afterwards and we can fix up the other disks.

You have a mess in Disk Mgmt. The actual OS is being booted from the secondary HD's copy of the Recovery Partition which is just whacked.

I can help you sort that to see if it will boot correctly, but you'd probably be better off anyway following the suggestion to get the much-superior http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 to the SSD with all other hD's unplugged. We are here to help you get it perfect, and as long as you follow the steps in the tutorial and limit yourself to the tools and methods given, you'll have a perfect install.

Once it's installed, plug back in the HDD, back up its files and wipe it using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/52129-disk-clean-clean-all-diskpart-command.html to clear the boot sector of the boot code which can interfere if not. Then repartition in Disk Mgmt and use for storage, including a Win7 backup image once you are set up to use in place of Recovery.

If you want you can later create a new partition on the HDD to test out Win8 for 30 days to see if you like it. If not you can delete it. If so you'll need to reinstall it to C as you cannot use Win7 once you activate Win8 Upgrade on the system.

to golden and greg rocker ...still no success.

I have tried your suggestions and tutorials by greg and also by by the Bare Foot Kid(How to Do a Clean Installation of Windows 7 from the Windows Desktop)

Tried your suggestions as well as a few other from Windows 7 forum in the Microsoft official site and I cannot reinstall or install Windows 7.

The one disk (out of 9) that start or boot is one where I have to bypass an error before it boots Windows 7.

I tried the tutorial, still no success.
I have also tried several tutorials to re-install from the reinstallation Dell Disk
Nothing works

I wonder if I could rescue some useful files from the Recovery partition of the only one of the 7 HDD that boots after bypassing error message from the Windows Boot manager Screen that reads:

2. Use the Recovery partition for a fresh install on a SSD that has already Ubuntu 12:10 installed on it?

A detailed step by step tutorial on how to do that would be greatly appreciated.
And also, after I try whatever you suggest to do next, could i also ask for follow up exchanges until this issue is finally solved?

Thank you kindly.

If you need to rescue files use Step 9 from Fix Unbootable Win7

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup, reset to defaults, save changes. If an EFI BIOS, enable Legacy BIOS or Compatibility Support Module, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here. You can try the Dell Reinstallation Disk first if it has SP1.

At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

Next click Install Now, then Custom install to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

After install you can adjust partition size or Create new partitions for data, etc. in Disk Mgmt. You are creating the partition here for the purpose of marking it Active which overcomes certain install failures.
