Solved I/O shield

Might be a newbie question

The I/O shield...I have built 3 PCs now and I cannot really get the mobo to sit as flush as I have seen on factory built PCs.
I just finished one (new stuff in an old case) and though the board is rock solid and doesn't move some of the inputs are recessed a bit. They work fine but it doesn't look very good. The inputs on the sides are fine but the ones in middle have that recessed thing going on....Don't like it...
Obviously there is not much room for the board to move being screwed into the standoffs and all.
Quite a gap...1/16" at least.


Thoughts?

I don't know how helpful these pics are. You can see the gaps in HDMI and LAN. USB as well...pretty massive.

VERY OLD computer. It had XP on it. GIANT Alienware case that is ATX I believe. I have a micro-atx MSI board in it. I see a better angle for a pic but I don't know if it matters because the I/O isn't going to move and the board is screwed to the standoffs...

Does the I/O shield fit that case properly.
I would verify that the standoffs are in the proper place for the motherboard. That big old case just might not be designed for a micro-atx.

I/O snapped in nicely. You are probably right. Seems like it happened on the last PC I did though not as badly as this one. Standoffs are in the only places they can be.

Not the end of the world. I (they) will deal.

The I/O shield on my MOBO came with a gasket on it. If that gasket was missing, that would leave a gap about as big as yours. Mayhap yours is missing?

Mine have also that little gap, when i plug USB devices or others it tighten and fill the gap better. When i placed my motherboard i pushed it onto the left side as much i could before tightened the screws, too....
