ICS Error: "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing..."

Hi,

wheny try to enable ICS for the WLan or for the LAN adapter, I get the error message(s)

An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled
Acess is denied

After that the option Allow other network users to connect throug......
is once again unchecked.

I googled quite a bit but could not find any anwers close to my problem.

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Click on the Start Orb rb: and type services.msc press then press enter. Locate ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), make sure that the Start up Type is set to Automatically, then Start the Service.

Also, make sure that you assign Static IP on the LAN or WLAN settings.

1) What version of W7 are you running?
2) Are you an administrator?

If the answer to 1) is "Starter," then you need to upgrade to a newer version. Period. There is no work around.
If the answer to 2) is "No," then you need to talk to whoever the administrator of your machine is.
