IDimager Pro Version 5 - Runtime Error 217

I installed IDimager Pro Version 5 (a DAM application) and it appeared to install correctly in the X86 programs (it is a 32-bit app but compatible with 64-bit). However, when I try to start the program, I get Runtime error 217. The Event Viewer Error and Information messages follow:

Runtime Errors

I am aware of the SEVERAL ways that runtime errors can occur. I have used jv16 Power Tools; ParetoLogic's PC Health; and Microsoft's sfc /scannow - none have solved my problem.

have you tried installing the prog in compatibility mode ?

Runtime Error

I have now run CCleaner with the same result: Runtime Error 217 when attempting to start IDimager Pro. The program is compatible with Windows 7; it is running quite well on a different Windows 7 machine on my home network.

general , i suspect you have tried to manually register the .dll file or downloaded the .dll file thats causing the problem, from elsewere incase it got corrupted on your pc ?

general ,it has been suggested by Carltr6 that you uninstall the program using revo Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems then re installing and see what happens then

Hello !!

I guess the best suggestion would be to download and run Revo Uninstaller Free Edition and use the Hunter Mode and clean everything up. Then run CCleaner and run it to make sure all the Temp are cleared. Then reboot the System if possible download a fresh copy of installer i.e. Program and install it.

I downloaded Revo Uninstaller Pro and used it to remove IDimager Pro (for about the 10th time), reinstalled IDimager and got the same result: Runtime error 217.

Here are a few things I know about this software.

1) If you downloaded this software from a Warez Site; the Warez version circulated has been modified and has known issues. You will need to purchase the software for it to work correctly. Plus the software author has a great forum to answer questions and resolve problems.

2) If the software is legal I have see it change or not set the correct permissions on the KERNELBASE.dll or other support .DLLs for this software. Even if you are logged on as Administrator the software will not run. Check the permissions on the .DLL’s, .EXE’s etc.

Glad to help. I have only used Windows 7 (x64) so I cannot speak to how software runs on Windows 7 (x86). But I have seen the file permissions incorrectly set for several software's installed in the "Program Files (x86)" folder and or the added files in "System32" or "SysWOW64".

Hello !!

Try to disable UAC then try to run the application and see if that works. Disable the virus protection and see. Login under Build-in administrator and see if that works.
