I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Gigabyte Lap Top.

I did a reformat in order to increase the size of my C:\Drive. Dropbox was using too much space.

Computer has been reloaded with my software and all is fine except IE 10.

If I go to the Site "www.Dropbox.com" it mostly loads without problems. The trouble is when I click on a link from that page Internet Explorer crashes. Windows tries to recover but never does. This problem is not limited to that one site. Others have also caused crashes. Most sites work just fine.

I have looked around for possible solutions but cannot find anything. I do get a box with a list of specs but that means little to me.

I am looking for someone who has had a similar experience that might be able to help me. If I cannot get any help from this site then my next move is to install Fire Fox.

Thanks for reading my problem.

Hello RainLover,

Have you had a look at this page?
You might also want to reinstall IE10. this tutorial will be helpful.

On the Dropbox problem; are you aware that the dropbox folder simply contains the stuff you put into it via the app?
So deleting the folder wil either be useless as a reinstall will put everything back, or deleting the folder may result in the deletion of all the data in there.
If you want to delete stuff from it I recommend you to sign in on www.dropbox.com and right-click on any file you want removed, and select Delete from the drop down menu.
You can check the free space you have left by clicking on the dropbox icon in your taskbar and then clicking on the sprocket. Or by signing in to your dropbox, and clicking on the arrow next to your name.

Good luck and keep us posted,
Nommy

Thanks for the Links. They appear to be what I need.

I don"t have a problem with Dropbox itself. I know how to use it. My problem has been the Dropbox Site.

Thanks again.

Update.

As time goes on I believe that my real problem is that when loading Windows too may things open automatically.

The computer is simply too busy to process everything I have asked it to do.

Thank Again.

Hello RainLover,

A common problem, I might be able to help there too:)

If you do not know what you are doing, please be careful, as disabling the wrong programs can be catastrophic for your computer!

  1. Click on the
    orb.png
    .
  2. In the Search Programs and Files
    search_icon.png
    bar, type "msconfig".
  3. Click on the StartUp tab.
There you will see a list of all programs that will open when you start your machine.
By default all of them are checked.
    warn.png
Do not uncheck any box if you don't know what it does!
  4. A lot of programs are best to leave alone, but there are also a lot of them which do not need to open upon start up.
Now I do not know which programs you have listed there, as I can not look into your machine, but I am able to advice you.
Programs like Microsoft Security Client and Windows Script Host are best left checked.
Programs like DropBox, Winamp, Spotify, ITunes and such can be unchecked.

  1. After unchecking the programs you deem safe to uncheck, Click on Apply.
  2. Now Click on OK. If correct, you should receive a pop-up asking you if you want to restart your machine, click on Restart Now.
  3. There you go! You now have a few less programs which open upon start up. It will even save you a few seconds in start up time:)
For a more detailed description, please look at Option Three of this tutorial.

If you really want to increase the speed of your start up, the best thing to do is a clean install of Windows, as is explained in this tutorial.

If you have never reinstalled Windows, you might want to check this tutorial. It explains you how to remove all the bloatware that the factory puts on your machine.

Good luck and keep us posted,
