Up until today my home page which is www.bom.gov.au would open normally now it comes up with a weird message. I changed the home page and all opened ok. It appears as though just this site is getting this weird message, not happening on either chrome or firefox or any of my other computers. This is the message that comes up: fe2.prod.bom.anchor.net.au OK I have cleared my cache and also reset my IE to default, did a system restore and still the issue happens. It cannot be the site as it works perfectly with my other computers and also as stated with Chrome and Firefox.
This one has me stumped I must admit, any help appreciated.

Hey,

If you haven’t already, try clearing the DNS cache.

Code:
ipconfig /flushdns

Currently it all appears to be working fine. It is only this site that causes the issue, only on one of my computers. If I use Chrome or Firefox there is no problem. Just for info, when the site refuses to open and I get this weird message, it happens all the time regardless of whether I have set it for my home page. I.E. if I just have any site open from within my IE browser and I type in the site address, I will still get this message. I reset my home page to Google and it worked fine, as soon as I typed in this site, the crazy message came up...

Looks like the problem has re-appeared, not my home page this time, but one I frequent quite a bit. Done the flush DNS stuff no effect, and page opens ok with Chrome and Firefox. Strangely enough it is the original message that pops up referring to :
fe2.prod.bom.anchor.net.au OK I must admit I am so tempted to just give IE a total miss as it is so damn flaky!!

In that case just turn it Off
Control panel >> programs/features >> turn features off/on (top left) >> a smaller window will open >> uncheck IE11.

To be on the safe side i'd run Malwarebytres free, uncheck the trial option, in the setting dashboard tick Rootkit option.

Hi,
Sounds like you could have malware, that is using DNS to filter your web traffic.

I also suggest running MalwareBytes, select Free Download, install it, *uncheck the trial of premium*, and cun a full scan with Rootkit option checked as torchwood suggested.

Best of luck,
Josh

This has reared its ugly head again after some weeks of no issues. Have run Malwarebytes and Adware cleaner, flushed DNS and no change, my home page will not open in IE11. It works fine with Firefox, and Chrome, just IE. Really this browser is a real pain:mad:
I changed the home page to Google and that opens ok, it is just the site I use all the time. Bom.gov.au which is the Australian Bureau of Meteorology site..
