A shortcut with this target WORKS (IE starts when clicked):
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
but the same shortcut edited to include -private will NOT launch IE when clicked:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -private
remove the parameter to verify that's the only change and try again, launches IE:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Also tried starting from the C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer folder.

What could be the problem? This worked several days ago.
