IE10: Fast, Fluid, Perfect for Touch, and Available Now for Windows 7

can i install with out windows 7 service pack 1
Why would you not have SP1?

I'll leave it to you buddies to test it for me. :D

Well considering Service pack 1 was released almost 2 years ago I personally fail to see where one still needs to experiment with it. All the experimenting was done long ago, and 99.99 percent have no issues. The other 00.01 may have other issues nowhere near associated with having SP1 installed ;)

In fact, as we see now, unless you have SP1 installed, you aren’t getting any support, which includes using certain features/upgrades Microsoft has released… i.e. IE10.

But hey, to each his own :)

I see that wasn't the best way to put it. :o

I'm confused, I need a little help here. Before, different architectural versions of IE are explicit as in, 64-bit IE would run a 64-bit IE process, and 32-bit IE would run a 32-bit process. Now, no matter what version I use, both seem to launch both a 64-bit and 32-bit process for the same instance. So, if I open the iexplorer on the 64-bit Program Files, am I really launching a 64-bit version or it doesn't matter now?

EDI:T Uninstalling IE10 because of the annoying auto-correct.

Brink posted a few pages back a link to his tutorial on how to disable the spell check - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...-ie10-spelling-correction-enable-disable.html
As for your other question, not sure what you're asking but it just runs without issue.

Yeah, kind of sounded like you were the one opposed to SP1

Now that you mention it though, It didn't sound like you, but...

Anyway we'll just note my comment was/is attributed to Hisashi ;)

As for IE10, yeah it's testing out pretty well here. No issues noted thus far. In fact I personally like having the spell check feature. And I can tell you IE10 is pretty fast.

Thanks for the update Drew. I'm not sure I'll like an auto correct though, but would rather a choice of possible corrections. I don't know what I mean, much less MS. :p

New browsers should not be used on your main machine for a long time after they are out. A lot of businesses will not upgrade their browsers so 10 might not work with their software. ( Banks ) for example. I`m gonna make an image 1st b4 I give IE10 a shot.

AdRAM,

Normally, I don't use new browsers (or any other "beta" piece of software) on my primary machine...but I'd read good enough reviews of the IE10 preview that I decided I'd give it a shot...big mistake on my part, I realize now.

Though I do agree and understand why businesses wait to upgrade, I see no need for individuals to shy away. But this being a preview, I can understand the hesitation. Anyway IE10 isn't that new as to break a lot of the old.

That said, I can tell you I've not had any issues dealing with my banking institution or credit card company online. In short, all is good with https (secure) sites.

I'm also using IE10 on my main machine because it's the one I use all the time. What better way to see if there are problems?

Anyway I know my machine, and I know my capabilities so I wasn't too worried about it "hosing" my system. A good backup helps too.

This is also why I'm a huge proponent of keeping your OS up to date. This way should you need to install something, the system won't break because it's missing key updates.

My two cents.

I have a feeling that both 64-bit and 32-bit versions run simultaneously, regardless of how IE10 is initiated (obviously, this is for x64 systems, x86 systems will only have the 32-bit version).

View attachment 241330 View attachment 241331

Note how both 64-bit and 32-bit (indicated by *32) versions of iexplore.exe appear to be running. In addition, the add-ons show both 32-bit and 64-bit to be installed and enabled.

Looks some sites do recognize IE10 as a 64bits browser...

It's very fast. I wouldn't have thought you could get faster than IE9.

Enabling 'Enhanced Protected Mode' causes the browser to run in 64-bit mode by default which is pretty cool as well, although it breaks the PDF Helper Plugin.

IE10 on Windows 7 Breaks Down Aero - Softpedia

I haven't tried it so I have no personal experience.

Like anything new, sometimes things break. There hasn't been a piece of software released to date that didn't initially have issues. That said, I'd like to be a voice that says he hasn't had any issues, yet.

I've watched a couple of YouTube clips since upgrading to IE10, checked secure sites like my banking institution, posted to a few forums, and even checked out my website, which was created with FrontPage 2003, and thus far... all is good. In fact this post is being done under IE10 as I have it on my main machine.

Not saying some can't have problems, I'm sure it does, but you may want to look a little deeper, and be fair before assessing the blame to IE10. If it's IE10, its IE10, just be fair.

And for those that have not tried it but are making judgments anyway... you might try it before casting judgment.

My two cents.

Internet Explorer will ALWAYS be Internet Explorer, widely known for allowing viruses and spy programs without user knowledge or consent, slow and web standard-incompatible.

Although it improved a lot since then, most of it remains and IE is still an inferior choice to Opera, Firefox, Chrome or Safari (choose the one you like the most).

I really don't care at all about this upgrade. Will do sometime, but since don't use it at all, it doesn't impress me.

Probably because you don't have SP1,should install as long as you have SP1 installed.

As for ie10, i'm having no issues what so ever and atm is my default browser since like I said in a earlier post, more responsive then firefox.
