My IE10 did better in total score, but FF19 did better in HTML5:

Snips have different resolution because I have different view settings for each browser, and it wanted to run the Java deployment kit in IE10 which I denied.

I would agree. Maybe it would do better with Win8, is that what you tested IE10 on or win7?

The only reason I can think of that your IE score is higher even though we both run the same OS is you have i7Intel, and I have i3.

No, higher is better. Nice score by the way!

What sorta surprised me was how well my back up browser (Maxthon) scored. 3726 and 6 of 7 HTML5

Hi guys

I have managed to install IE10 on my home computer but still not able to install neither IE10 neither Office 2013. There must be some issues with Microsoft updates. As I installed Office 2013 on clean installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and it worked till I got updates (the whole bunch of them), after that Office 2013 would keep crashing without errors just "Office 2013 encountered problems and need to be closed". Any thoughts about that? Thanks

Did you let install all of the updates at one time? Most people on here will tell you it is best to do 5-10 at one time (some even day less than that).

Yes it's automatic, as it's my work computer, so it installs the whole lot of them. And it would not be possible for me to install updates in small parts. If it was my home computer then things would be different and in my control. Still don't know how to fix the issue. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

The only thing I can suggest, is if you have the capability on your work computer, is do a system restore and let the updates happen again. If you can't, take the laptop to your works IT people. Tell them an error occurred with Windows Updates and now they need to fix it.

Mine is not that good with IE10 , but it seems faster IE9 and chrome ...

I switched to Chrome before IE 10 RTM'd since IE 9 was a lot slower than its competitors. IE 9 has excellent memory management in which it has never had a memory leak even when running for a week (just let the computer sleep instead of shutdown). Chrome 25 OTOH would take crazy amounts of RAM when left idling then slows down noticeably. I had IE 10 RP, but it's too buggy to be my primary browser. Now that IE 10 RTM has arrived, I don't use chrome as much since IE 10 is as fast as chrome in loading websites and it even beats chrome's performance in many HTML5 websites. In addition, it doesn't eat memory like a V8 engine. I am running IE 10 for 4 hours right now, with 10 tabs (2 of which are youtube videos) and the memory usage from the taskbar is around 660 MB RAM. If I were to replicate this with chrome, I bet it would've taken around 1.2 GB or more. For that reason alone, I believe IE 10 is a better browser for me

I was able to install IE 10 RTM on a hybrid graphics laptop (GT 520M + Intel HD 3000 with latest reference drivers from NVIDIA) without a problem. Maybe the article only applies to hybrid grapics laptops whose Nvidia reference drivers won't install and only OEM drivers work.

I was alright at first, but after 4days of slow graphics degradation I had to go back to IE9, and a problem I had with IE10 not showing all of my files in Libraries\Pictures has migrated to IE9.

Only in the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark.
It's marginally faster in the Peacekeeper benchmark.

IE10 is a lot slower in all of the other benchmarks (except the RoboHornet benchmark).

I'd agree with both your take on the hybrid graphics, and with IE10 not rendering properly on some sites. If I go to the What Are You Listening To? thread here at sevenforums, some of the youtube videos show but the next post down for example may show just the Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage message. If I hit the Refresh button it will correct many or sometimes most of the posts. Another site that is really messed up is US Debt Clock which displays as shown.

I went back to IE9 but it now it has the same problems 10 has so I reinstalled 10 but it's still the same. FF may be installed soon. Funny thing is the pre-release version of 10 did not have these problems on my system but it too now does if I go back to it.

Wordsworth your description fits mine exactly. I uninstalled IE10 through the updates and it took me back to IE9. When IE9 wouldn't work I went back to IE8, which didn't work. In the meantime there was an update for my graphics card which wouldn't install. Then there was a couple of other problems that began to show up. So I finally installed an image that I had and then installed FF19. FF doesn't seen to have any problems. I finally got a good install on my graphics card. SFC shows no problems and perfom monitor give a good clean report. I may be out of the woods.

IEXX no longer works. IE10 either installed some buggy files that are not getting changed or it has written to the registry and not being corrected when downgrading. Plus I feel it was conflicting with my graphics card. I don't know how many users are experiencing this, but here are two documented.
