IE9 confirmed for March 2010

I want to see Chromium tap into GPU acceleration of text/images with OpenGL.

As far as security IE8 has Protected Mode, SmartScreen filter, Cross-side scripting filter, and I think sand-boxed processes per tab.

I'm not sure what security features Chromium has but it would be nice to compare side-by-side with IE8.

Firefox has no Protected Mode/Sandbox feature, which makes it significantly less secure than IE8 and Chrome.

In all fairness, IE only has security problems because the vast majority of malicious hackers focus their efforts on compromising IE. If that same effort were applied to Chrome or Firefox...

That comparison is not that accurate (at least for Chrome) because you can customize it with themes, it has a built-in spell checker, and there are add-ons (extensions).

I will not give IE a second chance, not with its mediocre track record. I always wonder why so many people still use IE. Its features are mostly copied and then poorly implemented, years after the competition.

I think IE is MS worst product: no vision, no style.

Probably most people still think IE=internet

I like the speed of FF and the addons. I also very much like the the built in spell checker. It works great for forums. I am on a guest machine using IE 8 at the moment and I miss the spell checker. I will definitely try IE 9; but I will probably remain with FF.

MIX 10 is scheduled to take place between March 15-17th, 2010, in Las Vegas.

Looks like they'll be talking about it in March. No official beta or final release date.

Perhaps so . But in reverse one can say that if firefox, chrome or opera had the same track record as IE they would have been out of the game long time ago .

Will still download IE9 as a backup browser, but with little expectations...

MSE aint good
-Anti Virus does not find some old trojans whos been along and very well known

Every post I've seen you make so far is negative in some way. I think you need to be more positive.

Anyways, MSE has caught anything thats every tried to get on my system. If it hasn't then its something that I haven't noticed. I use the ongoing beta builds of MSE which are slightly faster at scanning then the public release.

Well, The only negative I have to say is about those stupid reccomendation of retard programs who dont work. OR IE and MSE, if you want to determine if your spyware free run Malware byte, MSEs anti malware system thingy isnt working.

But I have some possitive things to say, but what irritates me is people reccomending programs eg. To be put at the list over good programs which dont work. or is very bad xD

I've run MSE exclusively since November. It has caught 3 suspected items during that 3 months. I also periodically (2-3 times a week) run Malwarebytes and about every month of so I will run Spybot or Superantispyware just for the helluva it to see if MSE is being honest with me. Those "outside" programs have never found a problem.

Well - i just hope IE9 has got the speeeeeeeeeeeeed. Which, obviously, all the other browsers have, but IE...
As as for working/compatibility - they should have an easy job. If the Opera team can get it done fairly done, then MS and its huge resiourvers of employees should have no issue getting it done. I expect nothing less then perfect from a company as massive as MS and with as large cash reserves.... And especially after Windows 7, i mean, just having an ownage browser is just a cherry on top... (Sry for the weird phrases - learning 4 languages hurts my english, considerably... lol)
