I don't know what's up with IE9 lately but mine is crashing randomly on all kinds of websites. even Western digital's site it just crashed 3 times for no good reason.
as far as updates go I'm all up to date. the last update I got was for security essentials and .net stuff.

is anyone else having any issues with IE9 lately?

I tried the steps in the tutorial:

Troubleshooting Internet Explorer Issues

By going through the process of re-enabling addons one by one I was able to identify the offending addon - Norton Vulnerability Protection.
With that disabled IE9 works fine.

IE9 Crashing

Thank you Zirro,

I followed your advice and disabled Norton Vulnerability Protection.

With that disabled IE9 seems to be working fine with me too. I have had no crashes since.:D

I thought Symantec had fixed that problem.

I am now using IE10 on Windows 7.
IE10 had a problem with Free Download Manager but a new FDM version fixed it.
