IE9 Download?

Hello everyone,
First post here and a complete newbie! Hope you can help.

I'm running IE8 and want to upgrade to IE9, mainly due to it getting the best reviews and feedback here. The only place I can find to download it from though is Majorgeeks here - Download Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 - MajorGeeks

Is this completely 100% safe to download from? Also, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (64-Bit OS), so presumably the 2nd download link (Authors Site - 64-Bit) is the one to get?

Ie is at 11 now has been for awhile should of came through windows update. i would run windows update.

Thanks. Yes, IE11 is listed in my Windows Updates but I've read a lot of negative things about it. Hence my preference for IE9 (providing the above link is ok).

Have these glitches been ironed out or is IE9 still the best of the bunch?

well i can't say but i do not have any problems with IE11 more secure then 9

In answer to your download site - MG is perfectly safe - they screen all downloads prior to posting on their site.

The only thing I would says is be sure to always click "custom" and uncheck any other crap tht might be offered ( changing home page, search engine, etc).

Also, I have no trouble with IE11.

Hi,
I hate to break this to you,
Internet explorer of all versions are windows updates and all are still offered via the windows update system
There's no reason to download it from anywhere else

If you only see ie11 right click the ie11 update and click on Hide,
Recheck for updates manually on the top left of the windows update window,
Ie10 and probably 9 will be listed if not repeat Hide on ie10....

NEVER, EVER download software from third party sites, as many of them purposely infect the downloads with unwanted software (PUPs) and other nasties that you really don't want. Not only about IE, but wit any program the ONLY reliable place to download is the official developer website, anything else is dangerous.

In this case, a simple Google search of "ie9 download" returns the MS site pointint to IE9 download page as its first result. Use it instead.

Yep although I personally find ie10 a more stable version to get from the windows update system
It is best to update to each released version as they were released then if you choose to uninstall/ roll back a version it does it as they were downloaded,

The MS site was the first place I looked for it. Unfortunately the only IE download available there is IE11 - Download Internet Explorer 9 (Offline installer) - Microsoft Windows

No sign of IE10 there either.

Thanks for that. However after clicking, the next screen only offers me two options to choose. Either -

1. Windows Internet Explorer 9 for IT Professionals and Developers - Windows Vista 64-bit Edition and Windows Server 2008 64-bit Edition.
2. Windows Internet Explorer 9 for IT Professionals and Developers - Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

No options for Windows 7.
