Every so often it happens that, while I'm typing anything anywhere, especially on forums, the textbox where I'm making my post goes out of focus, upon which things happen randomly: the browser "automatically" sends my unfinished post (as if I clicked Submit post)/follows a different link as if I clicked it with a mouse of used tab to get to that link/refreshes the page as if I hit F5/opens a new tab/one time it even closed the browser for me

It happens completely at random times and without any warning that I might notice, because I'm typing! Now, I know that I'm not accidentally hitting tab on the keyboard or clicking with the mouse somewhere then pressing enter to accidentally send a post, so I don't have a clue what's causing this! The only thing I notice is that it happens more often when I use right-click to check spelling via iSpell, or mark a word to look up in the dictionary which opens up a new tab. But I always make sure refocus the actual textbox when I continue typing, so everything would be fine for a few moments, but as I continue typing, it just... happens, lol xD

Did anyone else experience this?

Hi,

Do you have any sort of 'automatic refresh' addons installed? When it next does it, check the progress bar at the bottom and see if it initialises. Also, the behavior your describing 'afterwards' seems similar to when you type outside of a box on google. I have sometimes been typing away & then realised i'm not even in the search box :o My browser goes funky as it's looking for the next word/button that starts with the last letter typed.

The only addons/accelerators I use if iSpell and Merriam Webster dictionary lookup.
I just tried logging into GameTrailers, and yes, the progress bar initialized and the page refreshed before I finished putting in my password.

It could be that there are other parts of the site causing this behavior, or it's not finished loading all the parts of it...Facebook is a nightmare for that kind of stuff.

It mostly happens on only two websites: here on SF and ShinobiLegends which is a text-based RPG filled with links.
I failed to mention that it doesn't happen if I use the website in compatibility mode lol so this would be the answer, though I don't always get this option :/

Yes we are having the same problem. We just went with IE 9 and it started to act up immediately with ispell.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, I thought I'd just confirm on the previous post. It was entirely ieSpell's fault.
Luckily, for those who still may use it, there is a much better alternative called Speckie, which is a real-time spell checking addon that works extremely well with IE9. It can be found here:
Speckie - spell check for IE
