Hi.i have W7,Last night went to checkup on windows updates and there was IE9 so I had a go and installed it.About half way through my microsoft security essentials went all crazy the icon in taskbar went red and a big box appeared on screen 'your computer is at risk'Tried to rectify the problem but failed the IE9 just carried on the installation after that all was back to normal.
Is that a on going thing with the installation of IE9 regarding the MSE.
Thanks.

I saw the same thing, don't panic. In order to do the update it also updates windows explorer. In the process of doing that it shuts it down first along with Microsoft Security Essentials and some other programs. I guess Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't know why its being shut down and tries to warn you. Its all turned back on again. I know how you feel though, the first time I saw it I had one of those WTF moments until it all came back on again.

Agree with alphanumeric. Since IE9 is re-writing a lot of Microsoft code (which is exactly what malware tries to do) an antivirus should be temporarily disabled because the AV really can't tell the difference between a "good" download and malware.
