IL 2 Sturmovik won't load

Nitemare/. I'm almost scared to talk to you, in case we have an earthquake or something. I was born in Sydney and sometimes threaten to go back; is it that dangerous?

no not dangerous we have more dongerous things than taht spiders snakes crocs jelly fish.

We have a whole bunch of neato kites sittin pretty for ya bud. be shure to check the mods out there, novotny already alluded to them. They make spitfires sound reaaaaaal good (and prettify the game by quite a margin)

well i have tried everything short ofclean installing the next build from 7100.
my train of thought is that its the version of game that i am using IL1946 i have order a us version which ill patch and try that.
i was also thinking that it might be earo that is causing the problem.
any thoughts

We need to start from the beginning without il2 installed. I'll keep an eye on the thread and when you're ready i'll try to talk you through it.

ok cool. Do you have more than one partition/hard drive? And where had you installed it to previously, as in where on HDD?

One hard drive no partitions and default folder

ok - default folder doesn't work under Vista or Win7. Try an install to somewhere else, like C:\IL2

OK so when it asks i type C:\IL2

or do you want me to create a new folder with the name IL2 then instal to that?

Yep- Rename is fine, or create folder, then browse to it when the installer asks. Also, run the installer as administrator too.

ok i have to go into the DVD select A which apparanrly is the intal application and run that as admin or do you select another aaplication There are 3 that are instal files

2/il2fb
3/setup

Also do you put it in the program file folder or the programfile (x86) folder
