Immediately shuts down when turning on

This computer was running fine about 4 months ago. Since then it has been in my closet. I decided to finally upgrade it to Win10. It booted up fine. I disable the GWX Control Panel and clicked the taskbar upgrade icon to start the upgrade. 5 or 10 minutes later it simply shutdown and did not restart.

I restarted manually and it managed to get to the Windows Welcome screen and then shutdown. Now when I try to restart the power LED lights up for about 1 second then shuts down again. Doesn't even get to post anything on the screen.

Any tips for this one?

Hmm. Happy to report it appears I am fixed. I am just not sure why. I had something like this happen on another computer before after it sat for a period of time. I took the PSU out, had it tested and it came back as OK. Reinstalled it and all was good again.

On a hunch this was the same I disconnected both PSU mobo connections and reseated the ram. I was able to restart, but did so in repair start mode. After a system restore it appears to be working OK again.

Glad to see you got it back up, it was most likely your ram re-seat as when just sitting the slots collect lots of dust for sure. It could also be you drained a capacitor that was being funky at the time too. Next time unplug it and hold the power button in the pc's front to drain everything out of the motherboard and then try it if you have same issue.
