Hi. I have a problem with a new Win XP install on a Dell 3000 (Dimension), having blown the bus on trying to install a second drive (It only allows for one hd drive), and replacing the motherboard,, it powers up, bios reads ok, I am pretty sure it is taking the OS, and now it does not read the drive, something about no drive IDE 0, IDE 1. I am using the factory install discs.
Seems fine, just won't find the drive. Could it be that I am using a Western Digital 80 gig, replacing the Seagate 80 gig it came with.

I have to apologize, my physical disability limits me to cruising forums at min imums on a Mac powerbook... ie, I am not real computer literate, and I am not to good at researching on a computer. And I am not good at doing searches anyway. It would make a good map computer for my simulator (FSX), and I am about to tear down a Sony Vaio (1.83 ghz) as soon as I can get the right parts machine for the screen. Came as a gift when one of my nephews stepped on the screen, XP pro, still works....
