Installed storage drive, now system drive will not boot

I have a 1T SATA system drive and a 1T SATA working drive. I installed a 3T SATA storage drive, and now my system won't boot from the C:. I have to go into the BIOS and boot from there, or use a boot disk. How do I get the system to boot from C: again?

Was 1T drive was removed from the computer or it is still present in the computer and what is the boot sequence selected?
Also does your motherboard support 3TB hard drive?

Hiyya and welcome viddog mate just go into your BIOS and if you know which of the drives you installed on just set it to boot from it.

You may have been better setting a SSD for boot purposes and the others for data but there again that would depend on the budget.

If it were me I would disconnect the other drives - see what happens then add the others one by one. If the problem starts up then one of the drives must be interfering with the boot process.

By the by did you prepare the drives before installing? Now some of the others who know better than me might say not necessary but I always do this before I use the drives.

If you want to make sure the drives are absolutely clean use the Partition Wizard to wipe them - takes a while and then follow the above process but you need a running machine to do that. Hi All, thanx for answering me. I did try connecting just one hdd at a time, and my system does support the 3T.

The bios had the correct drive listed as the first boot drive. After several hours on the internet last night with no luck I woke up this morning and my machine decided to give up its secret. The DOS screen said, boot manager missing. Once I had that it was easy to find the answer, I found some tutorials that said this can happen when installing new hardware. I put in my Win7 install and ran the repair programs. Fixed it right up!!

Now all the hdds are doing what they are supposed to do, I installed some new RAM with no problems, and I'm back on the road.
