Okay, so I was installing the Windows 7 Ultimate updates for my grandfather's laptop. Now, lemme just say that the laptop is old and the casing clearly says "Designed for Windows XP" and he had told me that it was messed up and he got it fixed, so I'm guessing that whomever fixed it put Windows 7 on it. So last night, I booted it up to continue doing research on something else I was doing for him and it took about an hour to boot up because it was configuring something (I think it said it was the service pack). Before that though, earlier in the day, I actually downloaded two programs that would allow me to use the laptop as a WiFi access point. Once it finally booted up last night, it said that the copy wasn't genuine. "Windows 7 Build 7601 is not geniune" is in the bottom corner of the desktop now.
I was looking up the other threads and decided to finally register and make a thread myself as I wanted to see if I could get a specific instruction on how to fix this or if this really is a counterfeit copy. So here's info I'm sure some of you will ask for:
Thank you in advance!
