Installing new Graphics Card problem with Win7

Recently purchased and installed a new graphics adapter, and since then, see occasional wavy lines in the display. Ran Device Manager on the system and note the manufacturer, model, and version number of the device driver for the graphics adapter. Then, checked the adapter manufacturer’s Web site and discover that there is a new driver available for the adapter. After downloading and installing the driver update, restarted the system. The system appears to start normally, except that the graphical interface has been replaced by incomprehensible noise. Due to inability to see the display, unable to work with the system. What should be done to return the computer to an operational state?

What is the graphics card? It would help to know the problematic hardware...

I would do as Logic asked.

I would also uninstall the drivers and reinstall them again or roll back to the previous driver.

There should be no issues at all with a new card, if there is, return it without question and get a different type/manufacturer.

Sounds like corrupt driver, or one loaded for the wrong card.

Boot Windows 7 into safe mode, (F8 after POST completes) will use generic driver, and remove the driver from Add Remove Programs and/or get ccleaner from piriform.com and run that for removal/general Windows 7 cleaning assistance.

If you want a generic hardware test also can run a Linux LiveCD from your disc drive, enabled as first boot device in BIOS, (visit distrowatch.com look for Linux Mint LiveCD image to burn) and if it gets into Linux and still has the lines on the screen or whatever, it's video card issue 99.9% likely.
