Installing win 7 x 64 on a new computer.

Hello to all,
I am wanting to install windows 7 on a new computer. who has done this and how did they do it.
I am wanting to get this done on an HP Model.
HP 2020 Newest 17.3 Inch Flagship Laptop?Computer (8th Gen?Intel Core i5-8265U 3.9GHz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel HD 620, WiFi, Bluetooth, DVD, Windows 10)

I did that just this week.
First I downloaded the appropriate ISO from the internet.
Then I burned the ISO to a 32 GB USB stick, using the latest (beta) ver. of "Rufus".
I set Rufus to 'MBR and Bios'.


Rufus erased the USB stick and then burned the new ISO to the stick.


Then I connected a spare 2TB HD to my main PC and booted up with the USB stick and started the install.
That went off as smooth as silk, and I now have it tweaked and tuned to my own spec's.

The only drawback to Win-7 (I chose Win-7/Ultimate/64) is that it comes with a very minimal driver package. I still had to install the drivers for the USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard and my Epson printer drivers. Just for fun, I also installed the drivers for my NVIDEA video card and the motherboard drivers for the sound and Lan.


If I were installing Windows 10, I would not have had to install any of those drivers. Both Win-8.1 and 10 have excellent driver packs.

Don't blame NVIDIA & Epson, it was M$ who forced their hand there The flip side of this is trying to get Win 10 working with your favorite programs on a 10-20yo computer
