Hi there,

Yesterday I got the last part (1TB HDD) for my computer and installed windows 7 without any problems. Throughout the day it worked perfectly but today there came an windows update. It shut down all my programs and went into the configuration of the update and then all of a sudden I got a blue screen. I tried the windows repair but that did not get me anywhere. Then I tried repairing with the windows CD, tried to go back to before the windows update but nothing worked. Then I tried to reformat the HDD and reinstall but now I get the error message: 0x8007045D somewhere between 1-30% when expanding files. I have tried searching the forums here and have so far been able to cross out any problems with the windows CD since it is an original and I used it the day before without any problems, I tried doing the clean all but that does not work. Can it be a problem with the HDD? would seem a bit weird since I got it yesterday and it worked perfectly fine for a day until the windows update.

PLEASE help!

The way to troubleshoot these errors is to google the verbatim error message and number to see how others have resolved it. On this one we cannot help you with just the number.

On a new build I would also double check all of my connections and cables. Reseat and test the RAM with memtest86 for 5-6 passes to stress it: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

Hi and thanks for the replies it's really appreciated, I will try out your suggestions and tell you how it goes as soon as I have the time.
