Solved Intel Graphics Family/3000 (Video scheduler) error.

Hi

please select intel from the dropdown option, screenshot shows Nvidia just cosmetic

Once you have rebooted, run the Acer update tool it will automatically scan for thier latest/current drivers, (will request a reboot to complete install(s))

That tool has NOW become obsolete so you can uninstall it
Re-enable WU and it should install the latest HD3000 driver.

Now set up your HDMI/TV

wait 2/3 days then create an image,(NOT clone) try Macrium free

Install the latest Chipset driver
reboot
and then the HD3000 drivers from Acer
reboot

I'm not sure if it's the lastest chipset, but I have the chipset from Acer site - 9.2.0.1015.

Followed instructions and am still getting crashes on login screen with red lines all over. It has not produced a new dump file yet though. I did not go further to login so it will crash more into freeze or video schedule error. I will attempt that now.

The crashes occur less often and I can at least login. Display driver stopping and recovering.

Those red lines are all over every now and then (and I've changed my mind and made a new reply instead of editing; I'll merge later)

I have also checked Windows Update and there's no further update for this driver (8.15)

I think that VGA is on a mobo chip. The HD 3000 is integral to your CPU.

Is there a higher version chipset driver or is 9.2.0.1015 the one I should be using?

It seems that 1360 x 768 is the recommended settings for the HDMI TV. I know the laptop is suppose to be 1366 but that's not recommended.

I'll experiment with how to arrange laptop and TV at a later time. Right now, the laptop lid is closed and won't be opened until it's shut down. For the time being, I'm putting in sleep mode when not used.

I've bookmarked this page on both laptop and desktop.

I re-installed Intel Graphics 3000 - 9.17 and upon login screen, immediately crashed with BSOD video scheduler error creating a new dump file.

At least with Intel Graphics Family - 8.15, I can still log in and actually do things while display graphics crashes here and there with pop-up saying it has stopped and recovered.

The thumbnail above actually came from v8.15, just so you can tell the difference between them.

As expected, I'm in safe mode again since I cannot log into Windows normally with Intel Graphics 3000 - 9.17.

Hi

humour me read this thread, obviously your TV resolution cannot be the same size as your monitor,
the screenshot appears to be ignoring the fact its your Primary .
wrong primary monitor in dual monitor setup

When did you last run Ghost, and was your system working ok at that time

I'm not sure what Ghost is (maybe Norton Ghost? I never used it before) but my system has been fine for the past 5 years. I had updated most with Windows Updates until 2012-2013. I had an older desktop (not the current Win10) and I started using that one more often so I stopped disabled Windows Update on this laptop as I would use it much less. Less than 6 times/year.

I started having problems back in January 2020, when I decided to re-enable Windows Update and run updates.

edit:

Perhaps the current version of HD 3000 is giving me problems. My laptop had not been updated since ~2013 and it was absolutely fine.

edit2:

And regarding the wrong primary on dual monitor setup, this will be cleared up in the future when I get a wall stand for the TV. My laptop lid is currently closed. Laptop is literally in front of TV.

When the laptop lid is open, part of the TV cannot be seen.

And also, a new dump file has been created. I will upload shortly.

edit3:

I have discovered that only one main monitor will work at a time. The moment that the HDMI cable is plugged in, it will only detect the TV and not the laptop monitor. It does not matter if I run Safe mode or normal Windows mode.

I haven't been able to boot into Windows properly without crashing or freezing up completely from Intel Graphics 3000 - v9.17.

However, during the time I installed Intel Graphics v8.15, I was able to use dual monitor setup normally. Both laptop and TV were detected and same display the same screen. I was also able to extend the displays separately as I use to. So I know that definitely works.

Perhaps for the time being, I will go back to v8.15 as it works better than v9.17.

If the crashing from v8.15 can be resolved, it could be the same problem as v9.17.

Not sure if that's correct but, both seem to crash either way and it's only the graphics problem. It's just that one crashes much more severely than the other.

edit3:
I have just downloaded DriverEasy that was recommended by DDU and it mentions many drivers that are out of date.

Is this program trust-able, reliable and/or accurate?

With Intel Graphics Family - v8.15, the TV is now detected properly as the primary screen.

I did not setup anything, I left HDMI cable plugged into laptop. In the event that I open the laptop lid, it will automatically detect that mobile screen as well.

As I mentioned before, this is not stable as well. Display driver will stop responding and recover every now and then. It'll freeze at some point, but not that often.

It's slightly more stable than Intel HD 3000 as I can navigate past Windows login and use many applications as well.

I have downloaded Macriu (free), but have not created an image as graphics are still having problems.

edit:
To avoid further crash issues, I've uninstalled Intel Family with DDU and temporarily use the Standard VGA Adapter.

Well, it's been 4 days and there hasn't been any further information/instructions.

I guess I'll live with Standard VGA Adapter video graphics until I find a real solution. I'll mark as Solved, but it really hasn't been truly solved.

Thanks to the both of you with your help.
