Well it worked when I've tried using it the first time, now it doesnt.

It does support turbo boost, and I have it enabled.
I've uninstalled it and reinstalled, didn't work.

Please can I get a reply.
Nothing remotely related to revo uninstaller please.

Hi Skillsfury,

What happens when you try and run/install the monitor? Are you given any error codes?

The Intel Turbo Boost technology monitor does what it is says in its name; it just shows you when you're getting a Turbo Boosted frequency. It does not actually let you enable or disable those functions at will, that process is completely automated by the system and your OS, and is dependant on the load on your CPU amongst other things.

From the Intel website:-

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=19105

The Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.5 is a Microsoft Windows* application that displays processor frequency changes including Intel® Turbo Boost Technology frequencies.

I see

But referring to this link Here , It says that

Dynamically increasing performance

Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is activated when the Operating System (OS) requests the highest processor performance state (P0).

Yes. But my point is that the performance increase happens with or without that Monitor though. (i.e. the Monitor is irrelevant when discussing whether or not the Turbo Boost activates)

That's the whole point of the technology being completely automated and not requiring any additional applications except for your Operating System and the CPU that supports the technology.

Your OS is the one that determines whether it needs the extra boost and then subsequently instructs the CPU to go into that mode, without any other applications' or your intervention.

Intel turbo boost 2.6 not responding

Hi tom982 and solarmystic,

I have a i7 2670QM 2.2GHZ and experiencing the same issue than Skillsfury; i understand it's just a monitor but in my case the blue bar just sits there, it doesn't move at all.

I remember that when i bought my pc it worked but now it doesn't monitor so i'm wondering if it's actually boosting or not.

Any help will be appreciated

try using another CPU monitoring program like CPU-Z and do some heavy processing tasks like Prime95 torture test. If the frequency goes above 2.2 GHz then Turbo Boost works and Intel Turbo Boost Monitor is just broken.

@ Skillsfury

So, the Turbo Boost Monitor does work fine but it does not show that you are getting above 2.0 GHz, kind of like this:

Intel turbo boost 2.6 not responding

Thanks Theveterans,

Your suggestion helped me a lot, using CPU-Z i realized that my CPU was going up to 798MHZ but i have a i7 2.20GHZ so i checked my config and using Power4Gear noticed that my PC was running like in a save battery mode; i changed that to high performance and now the processor goes up to 2.8GHZ which is what i was looking for.

What a Noob i know !!! But well i'm still sharing in case somebody else have the same issue.....

Nice forum btw !!!!!

Your welcome stone061182. Most Turbo Boost problems in a laptop are always solved by playing around with the Energy or Thermal Management software that is preinstalled. These programs override the Windows 7 power plan so even if someone sets the power plan to high performance, but if the Energy/Thermal software is set to "battery," "quiet mode," or "energy saver," Turbo Boost will never work.
