Good afternoon people,

I've been expirementing intermittent crashes on my PC and was looking to get some ideas of what my be the underlying issue. From what is happening, my immediate thoughts are this is a hardware issue. I have re-installed windows, on top of a freshly formatted drive, and the problem persists.

The only error I've recorded in the last day or so is the following

Check out this section and look at the posting instruction for bsod's and crashes.

Crashes and Debugging - Windows 7 Forums

That would be the best place for help..:)

By the way explorer.exe crashes are usually caused by items in the context menu. Have you added any programs that have added items to this menu?

Sorry about the post rule violation, I actually did go there first but since I wasn't precisely getting a BSOD I neglected to post there.

I did have an APP (avast anti-virus) that kept trying to pop open a window advertizing subscriptions to their product. I uninstalled this before I posted and have yet to see any crashes.
