When using Xirrus I am packets are lost trying to ping the DNS server. No other issues.

My other devices can access webpages with the Comcast Wifi. Additionally, my PC experiences no connectivity issues when connected to my T-Mobile Hotspot through Wifi.

Lastly, the event viewer shows the following error:

This is a common handshake problem between certain types of network interface devices and Comcast's second rate hardware.

This issue has come up many many times with the only resolution being to dump the Comcast modem/router and purchase a dedicated modem and a third party router.

This is why your particular machine only seems to be reliable when it's connected to other sources.

Thanks for the reply.

Since all my other devices work well on the Comcast Wifi would it make sense to buy a new Wifi adapter for my desktop. If so, if you have any recommendations I would appreciate it.

If not, recommendations for modems and routers that would work with the Comcast network would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Pennvic - I'm having the same indications. Were you able to resolve this? How? Thanks!

I wound up purchasing a new router. I had the same issues with that though.

Ultimately, I was able to get a somewhat better connection by turning off IPv6 in Windows internet settings. That improved my connection to a useable state. Still not getting great speeds all the time but a lot better than before.

Hope this helps.
