I have an Alienware X51 running Windows 7 Home Premium. For some reason, the computer is suddenly no longer able to connect to any network - wired or wireless - except in safe mode with networking enabled. Even in safe mode, the machine is only able to connect to my home Wi-Fi. Although Windows Network Diagnostics says the problem is with the router, no other computers are having this issue while my X51 isn't even able to connect to my iPhone's personal hotspot.
So far, I've tried the following steps:
Anything else I could try?
I should mention that there was a power failure two days ago, but there were no problems immediately following the outage.
So far, I've tried the following steps:
- Booted to safe mode - only my home Wi-Fi works as noted above
- Restarted my router
- Ensured that there are no IP address conflicts
- Reset Winsock and the TCP/IP stack
- Disabled and enabled the network adapters
- Temporarily turned off the firewall
- Flushed the DNS cache
- Did a system restore
- Ran System File Checker
