Solved Internet only works in safe mode, computer only connects to home Wi-Fi

I have an Alienware X51 running Windows 7 Home Premium. For some reason, the computer is suddenly no longer able to connect to any network - wired or wireless - except in safe mode with networking enabled. Even in safe mode, the machine is only able to connect to my home Wi-Fi. Although Windows Network Diagnostics says the problem is with the router, no other computers are having this issue while my X51 isn't even able to connect to my iPhone's personal hotspot.

So far, I've tried the following steps:

1. Booted to safe mode - only my home Wi-Fi works as noted above
2. Restarted my router
3. Ensured that there are no IP address conflicts
4. Reset Winsock and the TCP/IP stack
5. Disabled and enabled the network adapters
6. Temporarily turned off the firewall
7. Flushed the DNS cache
8. Did a system restore
9. Ran System File Checker

Anything else I could try?

I should mention that there was a power failure two days ago, but there were no problems immediately following the outage.

I'm not using either program. I have Microsoft Security Essentials.

So a service or startup is giving the problem so first move disable all none ms things in msconfig

I've partially resolved the problem. I reset my wireless range extender, and now the Wi-Fi works most of the time. It still occasionally disconnects, but this is likely because the computer is located in a remote corner of my house.

However, the Ethernet still isn't working. I reset the network adapters, reinstalled the drivers and even tried a different switch. Is there a good way to check if an Ethernet adapter has gone bad?

ipconfig/all


post results will give us a good idea

As crazy as this sounds, the problem went away on its own. I suspect the issue was with the service provider. From what I've heard, ISP problems can look like they're related to the router.
