Thanks

Great tutorial, but I'm only able to merge the .reg file under administrative login (accounts). I'd like to restrict the tab under a standard user account and when I go to merge I'm told I don't have sufficient privileges to make the merge. If I manually attempt to regedit, I'm told the same. If I switch the standard account to administrative, I can then merge the .reg file, but the minute I switch the account back to standard, the tab reappears. Any advice here? Thanks again. edit: the second method using the local group policy editor did not work either, set to enabled, filter on.

Made my day as resolves a reoccuring security issue a friend is having with her staff and work PC.

For those interested, the entry now includes:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]
"ConnectionsTab"=dword:00000001.

Many thanks,
Ken
