Hi, this is a general internet problem so I'm not quite sure where I should have made this topic but this forum is a lot better then most I have been to so figure I should try here first.

When I'm on my Playstation 3 in a chat room talking to a friend sometimes my internet will like cut out, I wont disconnect from the chat or nothing but for lets say 3 seconds the audio will go out and it will be laggy after it comes back for about a minute or so then it will catch up, now sometimes this happens lets say every couple minutes and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. I have Charter Cable Internet it is around 25 MB/S I believe and my router is a net gear (newer model) now I know its not SOLEY a wireless problem with the router because my Playstation 3 is hooked up wireless but it does happen more if it is using wireless rather then an Ethernet cable. This is not just a Playstation problem it is the internet problem I'm just using that as a good example. I was wondering if maybe something in my router was causing this or if anybody has any idea's on how to fix it because it is quite annoying.

Hello,

We can troubleshoot both wired and wireless connection issue.

First off, make sure that you have the latest firmware for your Router.

For the wireless issue, interference might be causing the disconnection.
Do this from your wireless computer:
Install and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector.
Click on the 'Show Networks' to display all wireless networks on the xirrus icon on your desktop if you have one running in a corner. Tap the Printscreen key on your keyboard, open up Paint then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then SAVE it. Upload and attached it here.
