Ok, I have a handheld scanner hooked up by USB to my laptop. All i want to do is walk around my store and do inventory by scanning the barcode. Whats the easiest and cheapest way to do this. Is there a way to do this in excel?

Thanks in advance.

Once you have scanned everything in excel.
Then when that item moves or sold you can look at the excel sheet for moved items and how long item been on shelf that aren't moving.

Microsoft Office has a neat program called Access where you can use a template for inventory.
Check it out.

Hi,

To scan a barcode correctly, the barcode has some requirements for scanning. In addition to data checksum, data type, quiet zone, the barcode size is also need to be concerned. Form my experience, I can read barcode images from several image formats or directly read all barcode images from a single file. I ever googled a barcode scanning solution for my barcode recognition project. Guess it help.
