Thanks to everyone who suggested using Supermium.

I've been using Pale Moon for years, but it has slowed down to a crawl.
It literally takes 5 minutes to open a list of 18 online cartoon/comic sites.

The same list of sites load in a few seconds in Supermium.

I have installed Supermium but as yet haven't used it much. Does it ever update? When I hit the "About" button it shows me the current version. Is this a static situation or does it occasionally announce an update as it is developed?

I find R3DFOX, the clone of Firefox much faster. Supermium takes too much time to load on a Core 2 Quad with 4GB RAM, let alone on a much slower Celeron with 1.5GB RAM. R3DFOX loads fast on the Celeron as well.

Isn't Mozilla dropping support for W7 (and replacing ESR 115)?

This means the next ESR version won't be compatible with Windows 7, so we are stuck with Firefox ESR 115. Or we can uninstall Firefox and install R3DFOX 141 which is a clone of Firefox 141 compatible with Windows 7. It's also a lot faster like I pointed out in my previous post.

I haven't been on here for a few years, but just curious - is anyone still using Windows 7 and if so, how? Offline or paying for updates?
I do! Im using and Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit laptop.
I just burn CD's and DVD's, although i try to get some games working on it.

Here is a screenshot of R3DFOX running on Windows 7 32-bit. The graphics card is old and doesn't support Aero, so the menu area is the default bluish gray. In systems with WDDM drivers and Aero enabled it is the default blue color (or whatever the user has set).

I think that's the default Windows 7 scrollbar. Certainly better than the annoyingly smaller Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome scrollbar.

At work we use several old computers running Windows 7 and even XP. We have Microsoft Security Essentials installed which receives regular definition updates, exactly the same as Windows Defender in Windows 10 and 11. Needless to say we also don't visit suspicious sites from work and we watch where we click. We don't just click on any popup window just to get rid of it. We use our brains first. The screenshot I posted above is from one old Intel Celeron socket 478 (slower than Intel Pentium 4 socket 478 aka Prescott) with 1.5GB RAM and nVidia TNT2 graphics card with Windows XP drivers (yes, that old). We use them for programming PDTs (Portable Data Terminals), access points and switches we sell and support. Compared to that my current PC feels like a super computer!

Well thank you for that spapakons ! That's it. Best OS scrollbar that ever came out, imo. 2 tone blue, dimensional, etc.
Is R3DFOX 141 also 64 bit as well & where is the best place to download it ?

Thanks again !
