Is it ok to run defrag and use the computer normally?

Use Contig. Perfectly safe. Will defrag everything on the drive that which you specify. See post #12

C:\Users\Adam\Desktop\Contig.exe c:\* /S

Had to do that to get it defragging

do not know what you mean.

Since you put contig on your desktop, then:
1. Go to an elevated command prompt:
2. run following command:
CD /D c:\Users\Adam\Desktop
3. run following command
Contig C:\* /s /q

After you gain confidence in contig, you will learn:
1. runs much faster with the /q option
2. immediately follow first defrag with another of the same drive. Runs very quickly and will reduce the fragmented count to 0 or close thereto.
