Is it possible to make a randomized playlist in WMP work properly?

Hi. I'm trying to play a list of about 2000 songs in windows media player and naturally enough I set it to play the songs randomized. The thing is that it dosn't really seem to do a good job. I feel like maybe 50 songs or so are extremely over representated and some songs are not played at all. I also find that some artists are even more over representated, an artist which maybe makes out 0.05% of the playlist reoccuring every 20th click or so. I've had this problem before with my carputer. I had a list of about 1600 songs which I played for over half a year, but when I turned off the randomizing I was amazed to hear loads of songs I had never heard before :O. I'm not sure how the computer manage to pull a "random" song out of a playlist, but are there any other ways to do it? One that might pull the allready played songs out of the playlist untill all the other songs has been played first for example?

Well, no not really, unless you manually create a playlist, feed it with all the music you want to listen, then sort the list by "shuffle list", in that case you won't even need to use the shuffle option of WMP.
