Is it safe to take the side panel off to clean it?

Well, I need to clean the side panel of my computer because it has holes and things like dust get stuck on them. Should I take the side panel off just because of this?



Yes I did build my PC, but I dont know if it is "safe".

Yes - its a good idea to keep all the air vents clear of dust etc. While the side is off check the cpu cooling fins and fan for dust and if necessary use a can of compressed air to blow them clean. Don't use a vacuum cleaner due to possible static damage.

I do mine on the first of each month. Make a schedule and clean your PC regularly.

It's a good idea to do so regularly if you know how to do it. It's safe as long as you take the appropriate measures and do it with care. Unplug everything beforehand, try not to touch the electronics printed boards directly and remember to get rid of electrostatic charges from your body.
