Is my monitor about to die on me? 3,5Year hp monitor.

hello, I have my 20" 1600x900 Hp monitor (Hp 2009v) 5ms respons, It have worked without problems all theese years but i first saw this problem when it was 2,5years when i played terraria, when i played it one day i saw i tiny little line in about the middle of the screen, i know it hapends when a game is at higher fps than the monitor is capible of, but it wasent there before and now it came up, i thought it was the gpu so i changed to the engt430 i felt a lot more fps but no more lines just that one, then i havent cared about it, then 3years old monitor i opened terraria with the same computer, and saw like 4-5 lines moving up and forth it got unplayable, when i then got my laptop and played terraria it was only that line again, becouse i got less fps, and then i stoped caring about it, now 3,5 years old monitor, i opened portal 1 i have like 60fps+ there, but when i walked in the elevator and moved slowly the wiev a bit the whole thing pixeled out, it was lines everywhere, the faster i moved my mouse the more lines and the more pixelated it got, if i moved very slowly it got a little bit but not much. it was significantly more lines than ever in portal, is my screen dying slowly on me? i have overclocked it from 60hz to 75hz wich increased the smoothness of the games and decreased the lines.

I would ask if this only happens in this one game. I I would use a gpu test program and see if it occurs then.

Eum, my computer is fairly new and it does happen in every game, but my computer can only push most of them up to 20-40 fps avrage 25-30 fps. So the screen can keep up, but the games that i have 40-60 fps in makes mee see the lines a lot!

I have done gpu tests and its nothing wrong there

You're asking a lot of a laptop with only integrated graphics...IMHO you would be best served to consider a gaming rig and of course we'd love to help you design and then build one.

Yes i know, but its still better than my old computer, i whant to get a real rig, but cant use the money i got, im going to sell a lot and work in the summer, we will se in the future if i get the money and if i can overcome my parents and use the money for what i really whnat instead of what they whant me to do, the thing here is that compared to the laptop screen and the hp monitor on the monitor it gets spammed with the lines but the laptop screen does not, the monitor have is old and was very cheap, but it wasent bad, untill now when it gets spammed with flickering and lines

Right now im in for upgrading my setup and not computer, so i have as you may have seen upgraded to Razer deathadder 3,5G, logitech G510 keyboard, modded my LED lights and put them in a good position, cable managment, The only thing now i whant to upgrade is the monitor and the computer, the monitor is though a more realistic thing right now.

Totally understand and good luck with your future build. I'll let others advise if any setting could help with the line issue. Maybe for know could you borrow a friends monitor and see if it acts up then?

dont have friend that kind, thay whould never do that, we have a vga/dvi monitor thats smaller that i whante to try but its almost the same age and got a scratch in it, i guess i will have to buy one to see, becouse my 2 real good friends has the first one a really bad setup with a 27" tv for his xbox, a 4:3 15" thing and a 15" compaq old bad laptop hooked up to a lot of stuff, and the other one has 2 24" monitors but he is living 25km away and the first ne 10km away :/
